Covers computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, information systems and computing research as one discipline — not separate degree programmes.

A broad faculty area spanning chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. A university strong here isn't necessarily strong in every branch.

Undergraduate and graduate business and management provision. Distinct from MBA-specific league tables, which rank programmes rather than institutions.

Medical schools and clinical research strength. Entry routes differ sharply by country — undergraduate-entry in the UK and much of Asia, graduate-entry in the US.

Law faculties and legal research. Qualification is jurisdiction-bound: a degree ranked highly here doesn't automatically license you to practise in another country.

Schools of public health. The MPH is a professional degree oriented toward practice — epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, global health — rather than clinical training.

Schools of public policy and public affairs. Placement is unusually geography-bound — proximity to a capital or a policy hub is a structural feature of these programmes, not an incidental one.

Graduate schools of education. Teacher licensure is state- or country-bound, so a highly ranked school in the wrong jurisdiction may not lead to a licence where you intend to teach.

Graduate nursing schools. Advanced practice nursing is licensed and scope-limited by jurisdiction, and clinical placement capacity — not ranking — is often the binding constraint on admission.
